PRESIDENT's BULLETIN

Updated 8th April 2026

Hostile Strength Warzone lived up to the hype of being my favourite road trip of the year & the thirty pullers who came provided a lot of great moments during the 548 matches that it took to determine David Bradford as champion of both arms. Callum Rice is currently leading the onslaught towards taking the belt home with Bogdan Bodui, Chris Rimmer, David Bradford, Karl Crosby & Tom Atherton being the chasing pack. It's still early days with at least another five warzone events to go before someone gets to take it home forever - it's possible that someone who hasn't yet competed in this years events can still prevail. Lots can happen before October & progression is clearly happening which is what I like to see.

We saw the warzone debut of Craig Boyle, who has been unleashed by James Stewart - his match against grizzled veteran Dave Curry…

Next PAA event is the Hostile Strength Warzone on Sat 4th April. Unit 14B, Flemington Industrial Park, Motherwell, ML12NT is the address, like all warzones weigh in is between 0930 & 1130, pulling starts 12.  Hostile Strength is a strongman gym of the sort I used to dream of owning thirty years ago & it's owner - Martin Lennox - has the same sort of grumpy humour & belligerence that I have. We get on well & it has become my favourite road trip of the year. There will be a day when Martin decides he has had enough of us - I hope it is not soon.

This will be the second installment of the league the 2026 ROAD WARRIOR BELT. If you are new/have been hibernating/continually drunk/oblivious/busy/demotivated/injured & don't know what it's all about have a read of www.paa-armwrestling.com/WARZONE & www.paa-armwrestlng.com/PROGRESSION pages - the PAA do armwrestling…

This time last year at ARMGODS 98 WINTERBLAST I declared Independance to be rescinded to a subdued Philadelphia audience after we won the cup. At a state of the union address (pictured above) Ryan Grondin & Ray Romanowski were appointed VP's in charge in my absence & I boarded BRUTE FORCE ONE back to Blighty with a jubiliant team of gorillas. I smile every time I remember that trip.

The coming weekend has an event in Cumbria organized by Ted Wilson. I put the poster on the www.paa-armwrestling.com/events, so if interested have a read & contact Ted (not me) with details.

I noticed straight away in Falkirk that Oto Fogelmanis was not wearing any dayglo. I was going to mention it but got distracted as we remembered that it was a year ago this week that we were part of a small Armgods contingent made their way to Philadelphia for the Winterblast tournament & Armgods Independance Cup. What a trip that was. We came home with the cup, I declared myself to be US President & that independance was to be rescinded for at least the rest of the year. I guess it's time to let them have it back, see what they do with it. Maybe next week. At my state of the Union address I left Ryan Grondin & Ray Romanowski in charge in my absence (so the blame for anything is squarely with them.)

And so the madness continues. Armgods Battle of the Pipes built the narrative…
