I doubt that grey drizzly January mornings three weeks after Christmas are anyone's favourite time of year, but I was quietly happy strolling around the graveyard this morning . Armed with a resistance band & some hope that old injuries will eventually heal I thought about Udezumou 2 weeks ago & the Irish Open in a fortnight. I've done some boring admin stuff this week, but other than that armwrestling seems a long way away.
Events Calendar has had Nationals & Warzone Final dates added. Still no confirmed date for the IFA EUROS so the events I have planned for May & June are still to be finalised. More international comps have been added to IFA's Website by the Presidents Group - the link is on the International tournaments page & there are suddenly a lot of things to go to in Europe if you have the travelling spirit. A provisional information pack without any accommodation details got circulated for the IFA WORLDS - I will publish the proper one when it appears & let you know here. Those interested in available details can click the banner on the worlds banner on the IFA Website which links to Japan Arm Wrestling Association page. Some of it is in Japanese so those adverse to reading might get even more confused than usual.
ARMAGH GEDDON ARMWRESTLING CLUB have been active promoting the PINKERTONS IRISH OPEN which is on 31st January. The poster is on EVENTS CALENDAR. It's a double elimination tournament with weight classes - Contact PAA VICE PRESIDENT Stanley Hamilton via https://www.facebook.com/northernirelandarmwrestling for any questions about the tournament please. I'll be there, but he's in charge of it.
PRESTON PANTHERS sent me a poster for the FEB 28th Warzone, I had a great time there last year & the competition was a tough one. It will be the first of 8 this year to determine who wins the WARZONE ROADWARRIOR Championship Belt. If you win at Preston, you get to have your photo with it as the current champion. Reuben Hughes was the 2025 champion. Who will win it this year?
