PRESIDENT's BULLETIN

A few night trips over the Goodwin Sands in the last week have focussed my attention & delayed this bulletin. Rising mists past midnight reminded me of an HP Lovecraft horror story & the sudden winds building the other night could have been half a day out with the undertaker if I had got it wrong.

Meanwhile armwrestling continues domestically & around the world. The Presidents & organisers group I'm part of regularly advertises international competitions & I've updated the international tournament page accordingly. Some of our champions are regular international travellers - is that a coincidence? They are finding opportunities for themselves which in turn lead to invitations. Bogdan Stoica was recently in the USA & then Romania - each time getting wins & building his reputation. Progression comes from experience, consistently doing the right things & taking on difficult challenges. There are few if any opportunities that will come to you whilst you sit reading this.

Summerslam is one such opportunity. If you are just sitting there & think you are just one match away from the big time you could contact the Tutts via Sussex Armwrestling & join them on Goring beach next month for the best seaside armwrestling party in the UK.

Armgods Ultimate Armwrestler restarts soon - the match that interests me most is the battle of two of my Vice Presidents - Atom Bomb Tom Atherton takes on Claymore James Stewart. Tom is probably the most skilled armwrestler in the UK at manipulating his weight - ten days ago he weighed in for the under 95kg class. I expect he'll be a solid 115kg when he stands opposite James. James has been active training strongman lately - a vid or him lifting two 100kg atlas stones at once is something I believe unique to him. Can Tom's guile, speed, strategy & strength match up to the raw superhero stature James is building? I've gripped up with both & am not strong enough to make any assessment over who is superior for this contest. Best of luck both.

Next PAA event is October 4th - 3rd edition of the Yorkshire cup warzone in Leeds. Someone will get their name added onto the annual trophy. Is that something you could win? A lot can happen before the winning 17th pin is made & there are no certainties.
